Harbor/Escort (Not in use)

Harbour and Escort Duty winch are available as a stand alone winch for installation astern or designed together with the windlass with a single or double gypsy, and with a combination warping ends to suit operational requirements.

The equipment can be driven both by hydraulic motors or electrical inverted duty motors depending on the vessel design. All options uses reputable branded motors, drive components which are easily replaceable and stocked world wide.

Escort winch distinct from normal harbor duty winch in its duty pull and speed, both in pull in and payout. These need to commensurate accurately with the design of the tugs, to ensure the external pull by the escorted vessel do not overwhelm the stability of the tugs. In addition, escort winch where required, needs to have its drive system sized allowing continuous dynamic braking exceeding the pull in power of the drive system. This allows high speed controlled release of the escorted vessel, while continuously maintain control in challenging waterways and environmental conditions.

All winch are fitted with emergency release system.

A combination of the following features can be incorporated in accordance with operational needs.

1) Single or double escort drums
2) Adjustable brake actuation force, allowing torque setting to allow brake to slip in response to sudden load spike
3) Dynamic braking capable winch drive system to commensurate with operational needs
4) Drive speed auto-change over
5) Synchronized independently driven spooling devices. Allowing conventional spooling and UHMPE rope spooling patterns.
6) Corrosion resistant drum interior lining
7) Corrosion resistant brake drum lining
8) Winch Monitoring system, complete with alarm for brake lining change ,drive system error, load monitoring. System with cloud logging or data transfer to vessel system for
